As previously communicated, Adam Swart has decided to step down as Chairman of the club, having held that position since the formation of Crawley & Maidenbower Panthers FC in 2018, and serving previously for several years as a Club Officer of Crawley Panthers FC before the merger with Maidenbower United FC. We thank Adam for his long service to the club over the last decade.

Following the EGM, we are delighted to announce that Steve Walker and Kirsty Butcher have been appointed as Co-Chairs of the club moving forward. Both Kirsty and Steve have been heavily involved in the Panthers Committee for several years, overseeing many aspects of the day-to-day running of the club.

Kirsty has been the Treasurer for the last three years and was the Club Welfare Officer prior to that. She also takes the lead on league registrations, supplier management, tournament organisation and a variety of other club operations. Alongside her Co-Chair responsibilities, Kirsty will retain the role of Treasurer and we are very happy that Erica Bush has taken on the role of Vice Treasurer to support Kirsty, alongside her other roles leading the Girls and Development Sections.

Like Kirsty, Steve is involved in many aspects of day-to-day club management including fixtures organisation, membership services, pitch management and communications. He’s also been acting as the club’s official photographer for the last 10 years. As Steve steps into the role of Co-Chair he is very actively supported by Gary Emney, Chris Biggs and other Committee members in many of these roles.

It is great news that Steve and Kirsty have agreed to take on the Co-Chairmanship roles. This ensures we have continued strong and sustainable leadership of our club and that we can keep on growing and developing as we have been able to do over the last five years.

Also at the EGM, Steve King was re-appointed as Club Secretary, a role he has held since the formation of the club. This is a vital role handling all the formal relationships with the various leagues in which we play and the County FA. Steve is hugely experienced in football administration which is a great asset to the club.

Margaret Emney and Julie Findlay were both re-appointed as Club Welfare Officers. Without their strong and committed focus on safeguarding and player welfare, we could not operate a club with almost 350 youth players. Their job is to make sure that your children are well looked after throughout their time with the club. If you haven’t already, you will soon meet them as they are visiting training sessions and matches for all teams.
